Nice discussion guys. My personal take on capping is not to constantly monitor every move, but to have a effect on the game. Obv keeping track on the games progression is equally important. I like giving players more room to work, esp those like cremisi. Tirri was also a huge help, one that I could rely on. Flat was much of the same but playing a more pure hitter role, which he did quite well. Karma did have a great strat on shuffle. After watching the hver game I thought we could have done better. Gkg's strats were very good as well. Yeah i liked having tirri act as sort of a co-cap/mini-cap helped a lot on maps like that breunor ninja thing where half the time u have no idea what u really should be doing and such. The ctf sneak attacks and such were generally people doing shit they were never actually told to do but seemed to work fine so why mess with it. I also liked karmas shuffle strat when i watched films it wasnt exactly the same as gkg's strat for same map but at first glance it looked really similar, karma must have recently read gkg's push article i guess or something! |

greatly disagree. seriously what other captain has taken a stacked team and singlehandedly crushed their performance in mwc finals for 2 years? ... wait, so since i'm responsible for the losses, do I get to be responsible for the wins, too (like, the ones LEADING INTO the FINALS, where, incidentally, my stacked team crushed the eventual champions both years?) I think honkey's assessment is pretty much accurate. Overrated and inconsistent pretty much hits the nail on the head. I get a lot of bad rap for "wacky strats," which I normally let fly because, you know, who cares. The truth is I cap so many goddamn games (like, every other day for years, even in random games you f*cking assholes keep joining me), people only remember the spectacular failures. i think gkg just wants to fit me nicely into his "system." i mean, school of raziel? really? lol ...UGH, I took the bait. and really, I just wanted to hop in and post this, because it reminded me of Myth: ps- I hate living with people who don't appreciate video games. I seriously can't wait 'til the day I get to live in a retirement home and play xbox with alzheimers on social security all day err' day. pps- also, special note to paris: you've been on my dick for so hard for so many years, you are welcome to get off it any time. seriously, more than any other player than myth, you've been crying out for my attention, and it's pathetic. for years now, i'll just be sitting in a room, or playing some game, and before i know it you pop up referencing some game or chat that happened like six years ago like we're best buddies or something. yes, you're good at myth, yes, you might be funny in real life. no, i don't like you. GO AWAY oh, and no, you are still a horrible, horrible TO. since I'm bitching, I might as well mention how every f*cking tournament you "run" that I try to play in, I end up doing a lot of gruntwork that you can't be bothered to do correctly, or find someone to get it handled, or whatever. I don't really think the wins had anything to do with you. had arzenic, dantski, or someone else captained would you still have won those same matches? Probably. But what if we ask the same question about your tournament losses, how would your team perform with a different captain? I think most would agree your teams would have performed better without you as the captain.
both years your teams have had arguably the most talent so it isn't really surprising to see a win, especially in mwc10. that is just another typical cop-out of a captain who happens to captain one of the top 2-3 teams.
what is surprising is to see such talented teams under-perform so significantly in the finals, especially this year. your team wasn't too far from getting swept this year had we done a little better on our end. there is really no excuse for that with a team that talented.
and besides, there are only 2 things that matter in any tournament: #1 getting to the finals, and #2 winning the finals. So you are talking about winning some rather meaningless matches, and losing the only one that really mattered.
your teammates don't seem too pleased with your capping either of the 2 years, so yea that is usually the best indicator that you are responsible for the losses. plenty of your teammates bitch about your strats in mwc10. in this year's finals, i'm not absolutely certain but it looked like you were taken out of the captain's chair (i.e. fired by your own team) after one especially horrible strategy. that is pretty bad. your teammates weren't set up for success in the games (which is ultimately the only job of the captain) and they can tell. going back to the other matches you mentioned that your team won though, do your teammates credit you with those victories? If so, then sure take some responsibility for them. I haven't seen that though and I doubt that is actually the case.
well I'm not sure what my system is, but you definitely do come from the raziel school of mything. you both think and captain almost identically. you both remind me so much of each other.
ducky you've improved greatly as a player. nothing against you, but seriously you should stay away from capping and just play. for some reason you think you are a pro with strategy or something but you have 0 credentials to back that up. there is plenty of other captain talent out there that does it better than you, even from the middle tier mwc teams. again, you are a great player though.
p.s. this isn't bait, this is my very genuine opinion of your abilities and always has been. I'm pretty sure I have mentioned this several times now over the years, my stance hasn't changed a bit. i was saying the same things before you were capping top teams or even considered a great player. your playing has changed (for the better) since then, your capping has not. i don't say it to flame, i say it so that next year we can have better captains leading teams, thus better teams, thus a more competitive tournament, and thus a more competitive tournament finals.

I don't think you've ever helped out in any tournament of mine except perhaps to pick your own finals map in a ffa tournament or form bomb squad for NML, which you did on your own time; i think its more interesting that you state you 'try' to play in these tournaments, yet claim i am the lazy one. also LOL at statements like "I carried my team to the top bracket finals" bla bla, one year you had ghengis, tirri and arz, the next tirri cw and arz. i'm sure you did a whole lot of carrying while strapped to their backs with a baby's bottle stuck in your mouth. stormrider and cw did the same thing and they did it more efficiently than you. you suck, you have been shitty for years, and when TB brought to light that you traded your humbleness for "myth fame" or whatever it was, you became an embarrassing stain on the community that has soaked into its white sheets. so right now i'm wondering if you're more upset you got put into the 'raziel-like' boat, or the fact that you are and have been a worse captain and player than raziel ever was. you are a sad shell of a man who has a personality mask of thick skin formed due to fear of penetration. if anything, you've been on my dick for years since I teamed up with clank, and i've been laughing at you every time i leave the room without paying you. At this stage of my Myth 'career' though, I'm just too apathetic to even be disgusted. Instead, I had a nice moment of clarity after our loss. Lol |
