oh ok, sorry adren. except for the one and only 1v1 series adren has ever beaten me that was for $100, I haven't been put in my place since 2008. oh and now except this most recent draft tourney. damn my streak is ruined. I'll just have to stick to winning mwc's now.

always on point with the gifs!
I don't suppose a 'I told you so" post is the classy thing to do, but what the hell. Surely going 4-1 with all your best players present cleared up that dispute. Honestly I hadn't been super motivated to cap until I read your initial post asmo. The follow up was clarifying but the thought was already there. I haven't watched the films yet, but I wasn't getting pushed around like I was from gkg.
On that subject.. my goodness. I've faced some fearsome captains before but he was by far the worst. Every strat managed to be so offensive never giving up any ground. Hats off to gkg and his team, they played a very hard match. BOTH times, though the second time was much more difficult. Has anyone ever beat a gkg-led team twice in one tourney?

Has anyone ever beat a gkg-led team twice in one tourney? had fun both matches (asmo and finals). Didint mind asmos strats for the most part. Trow terries having those 3-4 souls on the flanks was SO *cruisering* ANNOYING south for me. Seen it done plenty of times but goddamn they were annoying me. Calm we won thanks to crem and drunken both flanking their flag otherwise who knows how that game was gonna go. Great divide bleh. Sending a 2nd trow to help assault our flag was a good call. I dunno if we didnt have enough archers south or what but we really got smashed in the sw bad on that. barb valley was hilarious to watch just for the team chat on team asmo not the game itself. The poison holiday game in the finals was hillus. I could see that their mid could rush us anytime and probably rape us yet we stayed mid (i even said bad idea or something in game). Then when gkg flanked us mid and and squashed us it was a thing of beauty. Probably lucky crem pulled a clutch move and snuck through unopposed to their flag in that game.

There are no "former" members. Civil is for life.

if mango actually is mange this would just prove that prior to 2001 all the "good" players actually sucked.

Lol @ flats list. Bone? You need to watch mwc 10 ad film of desert To be fair. I did say that like say nemesis that bone also does trades/strats that dont work at all and fail horribly. But he also does good ones on the flipside.

worst captains of all time:
#1 raziel - singlehandedly cost his team more important mwc matches than any other person in the history of myth. his performance as captain was so atrocious, he captained for multiple years what should have easily been finals-contending-caliber teams and would not only not make the finals but get stomped on in the bracket finals placing a distant 4th several years. he would do strats for important mwc matches that you would have sworn were thought of by a complete newbie, and yet he was a MASTER manipulator fooling many people into thinking they were good for many years.
#2 ducky - the closest thing to raziel. singlehandedly has cost his team more mwc finals matches as captain, second only to raziel. he thinks he knows something about strategy because he does wacky strats, but wtf does that prove? he is completely clueless. like raziel, he has a bunch of people fooled, particularly on his team, into thinking that he is a good captain. his cover might be finally blown after this year. he is a strategy enthusiast of sorts, but unfortunately when he weighs in on strategic discussions he seems to think he is some kind of authority on strategy when he contributes nothing intelligent to the discussion and has absolutely nothing to show for it in any kind of tournament to give him any semblance of credibility. see my "push factor" thread from last year.
im trying to think of who else. plenty of mediocre captains come to mind such as stormrider, nemesis, wwo, tirri, shai, and cw, but i don't remember enough to truly single them out.
just because you captain a good team does not make you a good captain!
just because you do wacky strats while you captain a good team does not make you some kind of strategic innovator OR a good captain!

in this tourney ratkings team played 3 ctf games against gkgs team. does anyone want to guess how many times ratkings team just sent stuff through and snatched the flag of the greatest captain ever? yes thats right, 3 times. for the statistically impaired thats 100%
im pretty sure something like that wouldnt even have happened to renwood in 1999. in fact for some good captains it's almost a second nature to keep everything scouted in ctf games. you know, like this "oh theres a gaping hole there that isnt scouted. i wonder if anything is running through there to take our flag that has 3 thralls on it??"
it's almost as if this tourney proved that when gkg isnt captaining the only team that goes thru strats before the games, his strats and game awereness has as many holes in them as anyone elses
