Did you decide to change your opinion and now view as space as vital research?
East Wind - What does Mars being a waste of cash have to do with Iraq+Afghanistan? Do you mean someone can only complain out of control spending with regards to one line item?

I reposted scratchs response. Granted the money could be used for better things, but I believe that scientific exploration should be more of a priority than starting stupid *cruisering* unwinnable wars against people and wasting that much money EVERY day on an even dumber cause, wish was pretty much the theme of the last "republican" administration. I think all politicians are pieces of shit... but I have enjoyed a presidency that hasnt gotten us in to two full scale money draining wars much more. All in all.... space research is a drop in the bucket compared to the ridiculous spending this country puts towards Prisons, the war machine, and the social security/medicare scams that we all pay in to.

and that is the dichotomy that I like to draw.
Democrats- Lets pay for tons of social entitlement programs, and create a dependent state where people will be waiting in line for food handouts, and you are not rewarded, but rather PUNISHED for success, or the lack of success of others. Forget how we will even afford this, or forget the fact that we are dead broke, and so in debt we will NEVER be out.
Republicans- OBAMA IS THE DEVIL HE WASTES SO MUCH MONEY.... Yet.. lets forget about all the *cruisering* wars we are STILL in because we wanted to make halliburton and the banks money. but we need to preach FISCAL responsibility, an low taxes, despite showing the most wreckless spending in the history of our country. However lets attack social entitlement that is actually NEEDED and but we sure as *cruiser* have plenty of money to fight wars.

Here is the biggest waste of U.S money. Entitlements its around 60% of our Budget. That is MORE than ALL other spending combined. Everything else is a drop in the bucket. We also have 47% of the population that pays 0 nothing notta in Federal Income Taxes. We have people that are 3-4 generations on Welfare most of these people have never worked a day in their lives. Yet collect a check every month. They have Health Care, Housing, Food and every other thing that some people have to actually work for and earn. And they actually get BONUS money for every illegitimate kid they have.
We could go to Mars once a month and start a few more wars and still have a bunch of money left over. If we would just stop sending checks to all the worthless societal leeches. Make anyone that is not severely handicap take care of their own damn self.
And make everyone pay taxes. It is sick when 53% of the people have to pay for everything. When the other 47% pay nothing, and are also the biggest recipient of hand outs.
We need either a Flat tax or 0 Income Tax and raise Sale Taxes. So all of these people that live off everyone else can start paying their fair share.

The biggest entitlement programs are social security and medicaid. These 2 programs account for nearly all of the entitlement programs. That is a stupid statistic, as you must QUALIFY for both programs either through years of work, or through being disabled, or losing a parent/guardian when you are a child. Believe it or not..... a significant portion of every paycheck is used to fund these programs seperately from all the tax dollars. And besides I sure as *cruiser* would rather have my money going to HELPING americans, than killing iraqis.

The problem with the wars we fight now is we dont fight to win. You wouldnt believe the sick rules our soldiers have to follow. They cant shoot at the enemy unless they are being DIRECTLY attacked. So if you buddies are 100 yrds away get killed. You cant attack the people attacking them because you arent being directly attack. Look up some of the rule of engagement our soldiers have to follow. It is terrible and just wastes lives and money. When we need to go to war we need to GO TO WAR. Bomb the country until there is nothing bigger than a small bush standing. I would be a whole lot cheaper in money and lives. Then when other countries saw what we did to that last one that pissed us off. They would be kissing out ass. We wouldnt need too man more wars after that. Maybe drop a few 1000lb explosive reminders now and then.

O and by the way... I was unfortunate enough to be born in to a household with a drug addict mom and a dead father. If it wasnt for "leeches like me" getting welfare to eat when I was a kid, I would probably be clogging up your prison system right now, costing you far more money than the meager welfare check provided for me. But I suppose children should just starve... Then again... now i am a contributiing member of society, and pay my taxes. Fact of the matter is.... I would rather see people abuse the program and have people that really need it still have the luxury, as opposed to get rid of the programs so the good honest people or kids with no choice have the ability to eat and get health care and utilities.

yes it can be proven. We had no reason to invade iraq or vietnam. The same weapons companies and banks skimmed tax payer money to profit tremendously. This has been going on forever.... war = money. Many fight.... for the gain of few. But Hopefully they find those WMDS soon.
