I can't think of any reason (other than rendering support, totally legit I understand that- hence BETA!-) not to have this for replays at the very least.

if there was a zoom enhanced which I really don't care either way, magma would still be douche-bags and alter the game in some shape or form which I do not want to see, so I vote no.

Dude, the game has been enormously modified since 1998, including numerous significant GAMEPLAY changes. I don't buy the luddite argument (more like troglodyte) here for a second.

I'm running Mac OS 10.7.4 and as far as I'm aware there isn't a version of fear compatible...

If Magma can do this. it should be a host-game-level option. Like TFL style play or Deathmatch or unit trading.

it will be nice if they can add numbers to know at what zoom level you are in so you can go back to your original preference quickly, so it wont effect personal game play .

Why, cuz we have the skill to manage units off-screen and don't want the game dumbed down any more? k QFT. You guys are a pile of noobs with your two-button mice and broadband. Frankly I don't even turn on my monitor - I play entirely by sound. Bunch of amateurs! But seriously, while I can understand both sides, realize that it's not that different than being able to use custom formations or observer speeds, which I believe almost everyone does. That said at this point unless there's a landslide change of support, I doubt we will add it. Despite what all you lovely people think (and have had proven wrong many times), the myth patches are incredibly conservative with any gameplay changes. So maybe remember that in the future before perpetuating more lies? Anyways, still gonna go grab some 2x/4x zoom shots for kicks. Let's transition the question to whether or not you guys want this feature for observers/replays then?

while it would be sauceum to have high zoomout for replay i vote no if it's only going to be available for replays cause everytime i watch a replay i would just be annoyed i can't have that in game.
if someone doesn't want it in game don't give it to them in replay mode bcase they are just luddite beayatchs who are afraid their 1337 overhead map skillz will be obsolete they are fraid of being beaten by some newby. they selfishly stand in the way of progress of making mtyh even more fun than it already is just so they can stay higher on leederboards. selfish bahstads don't give them anythin!

Despite what all you lovely people think (and have had proven wrong many times), the myth patches are incredibly conservative with any gameplay changes. So maybe remember that in the future before perpetuating more lies? Why don't you quote one of these lies I'm perpetuating. But seriously, while I can understand both sides, realize that it's not that different than being able to use custom formations or observer speeds, which I believe almost everyone does. Bullshit, forms and observer constants don't remove skill from the game. Being able to zoom out more removes the requirement for players to pay attention to things off-screen and control their camera properly. It makes it easier to spot stuff sneaking up behind you, and it punishes you for flanking. As someone who's not a scrub, I am not in favor of making this game easier to play.
