I often do, but it's not incorrect to not capitalize them. An acronym that is read as a single word ( technically all acronyms), like Nato, Asean, and Nasdaq, doesn't need to be capitalized. Fuc.k any style guide that says otherwise.

Well I got destroyed in my papers in college for using "Nato" so i'll have to stand by my slightly tarnished GPA. Besides, every reputable soruce that I've seen has always capitalized SEAL.

That's right, I hunt terrorists with Charlie Sheen at night and by day I mock dead people. Well done though Autumn, then again that could be an intern typing that up but still! I think I'll amend and say that acronyms are capitalized generally, but in the case of SEAL in Navy SEALs the most appropriate form is capitalization. Also, good news everyone: The Navy SEALs will no longer practice on a target depicting a Muslim woman brandishing a gun at their training facility in Fort Story, VA. rt.com/usa/news/navy-seals-target-muslim-430/
