3 teams left, still lots of shit players. Whoopy doo!
1. My Team
Tirri's carrying and pep talks have really transformed this team of old timers into the GREATEST MYTH TEAM EVER. But on a more serious note, ducky (no I will not call you bone) has generally captained well and providing he doesn't give me a thrall pack again should give us some winnable trades! Will they have finals attendance issues with enculator missing, CW/Dante not showing and grim moving house?
2. NC
They put up a stronger fight vs my team than SP managed and with EW subbing they didn't come up short in direct fights. Shai seems to be active and back on his game too which bodes well. Their grudge match with SP this weekend could go down to the wire.
3. SP
After cruising through as favourites for the QR and DE2, they were put into full carebear mode after getting swept 5-0 by my team. GKG is back in charge and SP can be found teaming up on a daily basis in rabble games. Can "push don't rush" triumph over the squads of NC again? Can Ghengis get on a nice hill and get 40 kills with a dorf? Will paris post the correct match time on his team forum? I predict a 3-2 match to SP.
4. R3
Wait WTF? Didn't R3 lose to TSS? Yes but they were undermanned, they played the equal numbers earlier in the tournament and R3 came out ahead. Whatever your view these 2 teams are very closely matched but I'd give R3 the edge without seeing the TSS vs SP films just because I felt their teamwork made them a greater threat to the top 3. Ratking should be congratulated on building this team up over a number of years and making them good opponents.
5. TSS
On paper they were stronger than R3, Chron is the best player on the 2 rosters and TSS has more tournament experience. Teamwork on this team seemed poor though and combining that with regular individual mistakes (seriously spacebar your warlocks!) meant they were never going to do more than take a lone game from the top 3 teams. These problems were the main reason they lost to R3 in QR and I'm not convinced they'd corrected this by the time of the rematch.
6. TCox
Absolutely awful attendance in the DE stages and not exactly stellar play by most of those who turned up. Is putting TCox ahead of TW/Deer/AGE fair? Its questionable to be sure considering they had to rely on subs so heavily. However with subs they were better than those teams, without subs I'd put them below because thats how bad TCox were this year.
7. Deer
Yes I'm putting Deer higher than some would expect. When Drunken was there they simply played better than TW and AGE, without him they kinda ran around and died ineffectively. Yes he might have taken some stick for taking 30% fairly often but it helped deer out in those games. Without drunken they were solidly behind TW and AGE.
8. Time Wizards
This was always a rabble sink or swim team and they mostly drowned. They narrowly beat AGE (which is why they are rated 8th and not 9th and beat GRU, but they still lost to the undermanned TCox.
9. AGEHA
Biggest disappointment of the tournament, by now they should really be better than Deer/TW and be in TCox's spot in the rankings. Famed ratiochamp ape had a horrendously bad tournament regularly failing to carry his team, Aki also struggled early on but at least got better with more games. They had a real shot at beating both a weaker TSS and an undermanned R3 in the QR but were only able to snag a single game from both. Their only success came in beating deer when their captain was missing.
10. GRU
They didn't forfeit any games which is probably more than most of us expected, however I think they lost 5-0 every match and were easily the worst team in MWC2012. Would be surprised to see them signup again TBH.
