I always cheer for teams from the UK, so definitely Ireland too. I hope Holland finally wins after the finals loss last world cup.
Best teams: Spain, Germany, Holland, ....
I like France's team, tho they just lost an important midfielder I think

Poland
Czech Rep
The weakest group of the tournament, none of these teams are likely to get to the finals and Russia are probably the only ones who might make it to the semis. This Czech team is one of the weakest in a long time. Can switch Greece and Poland depending on how much home advantage helps.
Group B
Germany
Holland
Portugal
Denmark
Germany and Holland are the 2 favourites in this group and I think Germany's proven tournament pedigree will shade it. Portugal will be relying on the 2nd best player in the world to pull a mediocre team to the last 8 but he hasn't really impressed in previous major tournaments. Denmark are solid but nothing special, expect their games to be low on goals. Germany and Holland are possible winners and you expect them both to make semis minimum.
Group C
Spain
Italy
Croatia
Rep of Ire
Feels like an easy group to call. Spain win this group and despite this Italy team not being that strong, I think they are better than the other 2 in the group. Croatia could always spring a surprise though and beat them. Ireland will struggle to score and therefore finish last. Spain are the only team in this group I'd predict making semi's or better and are the obvious favourites to retain their title.

France
England
Ukraine
Sweden
France and England on their day can beat anyone but aren't quite in the same league as Spain/Germany/Holland right now. Expect them both to go through but don't count out Ukraine or Sweden either. Englands team is filled with pace but the technical side of their game is still lacking. France's team looks good on paper but the recent game vs Iceland made them look very shaky. I guess I'd predict one of France or England making the semi's but losing out in that stage.

All I hope is we beat England, they brunt jeanne d'arc.
Also, Holland never win anything, they're like the flatline of soccer, so don't bet on em.

I have Germany winning it but i'm cheering for Ireland. Who do you all got? I don't see Germany winning, unless Oezil puts the performance of the year. their defense is actually pretty bad, and it can a problem ... I see Spain winning it, they are the best team of the moment, but they will lack Villa and Pujol both being injured... but they have young players who can replace them. I'd put my money on Netherlands, they have gifted players who did pretty good things this year (Van Persie, Huntelaar, Robben) If we can see the Sneijder of 2010, they will be the real threat of this competition. the Dark horses of this tournament will be France and England. also, like Dantski, i could see Croatia eliminating Italy |

I would choose spain if those two players were playing but without them I don't think they will get past Germany...I could see Netherlands pulling it off as well but I like Germany a little bit more. I got money on this with some friends on the ESPN euro 2012 brackets, can't wait!

Spain or Holland will win, but never count out the Germans. When everyone was bitching about what a shitty team they've had in the last couple World Cups, Germany always seems to make it to the semi finals at least.
