ok as a yungun i started out gaming socially so i played myth, sc, and supersmash bros etc with 3 other people. irl you not only have to declare the pronunciation but discuss it as well; so irl pronunciations i would consider myself an expert. trow is definitely trow as in ouch, this was researched circa 99.
also melee, in contrariety to popular belief, is pronounced more like MAY LAY. ...the more you know!

according to the dictionary of scots language it's pronounced as in "ouch".
