Firstly.
I do admit I find the "faggot of the year" thread hilarious as it always was going to be.
I thought I'd change the pace a little and make a Cool People Of The Year Awards list.
This is my top 5 list of cool people of the year in some sort of rough order.
(1) Grim
Well grim has come to the rescue this year ONCE AGAIN and hosted MWC again. This community most certainly needs grimcock at LEAST once a year to host mwc as quite simply nobody else does it as well. Yes you DQed me this year but I have no hard feelings at all as being a TO is a dirty job and you put your hand up for it like nearly every year even though you KNOW there will be drama that makes you want to never to do it again. I also hear grim is working on a new project that quite simply is also a good idea.
Great job grim.
(2) NewMutator
Was NewMutator (LN) really even on the competitive tourney myth radar until this year? Don't bother answering this question because he is now. LN shoutcasted EVERY SINGLE MWC GAME. This man has an iron will to be able to do that. On top of that he always does a damn good job and i'm yet to see one of his shoutcasts that bores me. He also got quite a few seasoned mythers to guest appear on quite a few of his shoutcasts which was very very cool. Not only that but he also went and shoutcasted every single one of the games from Asmo's Draft Tourney. And to top it off he joined and played every single game in asmo's tourney and after he actually started playing with a mouse instead of a touchpad (just lol LN just lol) he did rather good and ended up in top 5 ratio list in the tourney.
Great job Newmutator.
(3) Asmodian
Say what you will about asmo but after mwc was over asmo took it upon himself to help cure the "post mwc blues" for quite a few players. Asmo organized, ran and captained a team in the first ever Draft Style (kickball) tourney on myth ever and this tourney went SMOOTH from start to finish. Not only did it go smoothly it was very competitive and down to the wire in who the finalists would be and down to the wire in the finals itself. Best of all it was a lot of FUN. It was short and sweet and had a lot of players teaming with other guys they would usually never team with in it as well as giving quite a few players with little tourney experience a chance to play with the big boys so to speak and actually be on a competitive team.
Great job asmo.
(4) GKG
One of the most polarizing figures in the myth community, GKG as always provided drama/hilarity and pretty much everything you could ask to liven the tourneys and forums. MWC became a whole lot more interesting when My Team swept SP 5-0 (humiliation) and basically forced GKG to go into full blown GKG-MODE for the rest of the tournament. GKG also actually volunteered to captain a team in asmo's draft tourney even though in my mind at the time I didn't think he would deal well with having to have "lesser" players on his team in a tournament setting with his reputation of not losing a tournament for how long? on the line. As it turned out he did lose this mini-tourney (although it was as about as tight as you could get). Even though he didn't win this mini-tourney, if anything I think his reputation was enhanced rather than dimnished for having the balls to even enter this tourney and see it through to the end.
Great job GKG.
(5) Adrenaline/Myrk
Well these 2 guys have a little bit of a reputation of being unforgiving to lesser players in games I guess?. Well they both played in asmo's tourney and even with things not going their way there wasn't a single ragequit mid-match or such in sight. Watching the film of Team Asmo - Team Ratking Calm before the storm CTF and seeing Adren and Myrk attempting to explain the finer points of pussing to somnus and funky in planning time was pure gold. Hilarious stuff and probably not what anybody would have expected. Egos mostly went out the door and provided what I thought was something pretty damn cool (and funny).
Great job guys.
