All in all I thought that the tournament went smooth and was was for my first tournament hosted and for it being a new style of tournament all together.
Here is a short list of the things I learned that I think are good/bad for tournaments that people should consider when they host a tournament in the future.
The Good
1. A rigged subs system - You put a set rules for the sub system so people do not do whatever they want, but as a TO you should not keep to "The Letter of the law" and allow for someone to sub for a team that may not be according to the rules. The only time I think it is worth denying a sub when the other team is intentionally abusing it and having some of their team members purposely not show or log off to increase the quality of their roster.
2. A set fallback for EVERYONE, this also helps with the sub system because there are always seemed to be a lot of people on at the 3pm Est fallback time.
3. Rig some more, you need to keep the top players and especially team organizers happy. Do some stuff to rig the tournament to make them happy and in return they will support your tournament and you will have good turnouts to matches...I did a few things that I will not mention.
4. Update stuff daily - If you are constantly updating the website and adding new stuff to the forums for people to read even if the articles/content is awful it will help the participants come to the forums/website more and be more active in the tournament.
The Bad
Do not do a soccer scoring system or win loss system during a QR to eliminate people only use this for seeding. If you have one week of bad attendance (especially in a short tournament) then this type of scoring system can rape a team and suck the motivation out of them.
Even more Balanced teams, I liked the balanced teams and it allowed for every match to be unpredictable and allowed new tournament players to get some experience; however I think there needs to be improvements on the draft system if it were done again to balance the teams out even more.
I have many ideas of how to do this. So if you ever plan on hosting a tournament similar to this in the future contact me and I can give you my ideas.

the good
1. depending on the captain rating as a # should draft picks be decided (lower the rating, earlier the pick), and ties of 10-scale rating decided by chance/random. 10-scale is necessary and balanced; although some of your ratings were arguable in some peoples eyes they were also balanced and well thought.
2. 3 PM Est Sunday fallback time is good. depending on the amount of teams and subs you could set up 3 different times 2 be played, so all timezones can participate. people will show up if they are aware and want to
3. gkg #1 draft pick. not coming clean is just scandalous, theres no reason not to share, reminisce your mistakes and move on from them with a new approach.
4. this is the first 2 sentences of #3 without the shit you said after ...
the bad
1. who cares its like that in every tournament what goes on in the crunch time is your teams most vital time. just ask adren he missed nc's two last matches
2. see what i said for #1 good.
the ugly
if the community moves from here and doesn't approach this tournament again or harness the new players and other ppl playing right now and start getting them involved the ugly. the server needs hosts, most go afk. whoever is around, this is your move. i'll be back in the winter for something if people are around and im available. im going to suggest against a fall tournament unless its ffa or 1v1 otherwise it will most likely fall apart. if it works it works and will be good, but every other year it has just been hearsay and discouraging.
if we don't dig up films from other mwcs and tournaments for new mutator to shoutcast, including with him as long as he has the time to promote the game and the tournament scene, as well as the time spent by the rest of us. if it was cremisi's enlightenment and humor that made his appearance and first impressions valuable and welcomed, it was ln's dedication this year which made a huge impact.
we might be powerless to own a franchise, but it doesn't mean we don't have our power in what we can do. it is an age of technology and information. we can archive better with youtube than elfoid typing wikipedia myth lessons circa 2005. this is our battlefield and currently nothing stands in our path. we just have yet to scout. and scouting wins games.
- my 2 cents

The good-
1. Fairly versatile teams, captains take responsibility who they pick for what will occur such as no show ect and the teams are less stacked.
2. No elimination + done by scoring. I find this the best possible way for any tourney as by eliminating teams you are cutting down the community gradually from playing. At least if everyone is at the end of the tourney there can be some discussion with a lot more players about the finals. This was my intention if I ever got round to doing a coop tourney it would be done in this fashion.
The bad-
1. Rankings + Subs, if your going to have rankings and have people substitute I think its fairly silly to have a draft pick. The whole point of a draft pick is to prevent stacking in MWC and all the point/rankings do is create further problems for no-show players. Subs are Subs and they should be entitled to join any team that appeals to them. Such as Paris wanting to play finals, but couldn't as Tirri had a high point value as an example.
2. 3rd Party Maps in Finals- I thought this was quite stupid to be honest Asmo Having Zak Map with Cavalry in a finals map, this should of been in round 3 and Finals should really have maps kept as default as possible. Didn't make much difference in the end and was fun, but I was surprised to have a map nobody play in a udogs folder in finals..
3. Scoring. Well not a huge deal important but the scoring system should of been in place and made aware for all the teams to know how to get points. Games in Round 1 would of been treated with a bit more seriousness, instead of mucking around after 3 wins. The Ugly-
Ugly truth is this isnt going to be MWC and nor is TWS , Myth cup may be the most over-rated garbage for the last 5 years of over-stacked 5 trow teams but it has the label and name to it and that is what apparently matters to 10 year old vet gamers like GKG and Crun. People still know though that these smaller tourneys are the more balanced and this is why we had such a close finals with last breath moments beforehand who actually reached them.

Pros-
Getting to play with new people
Greater Talent disparity... Any team could have won this tournament.
Players changing roles getting out of their shell a bit- Example- Arz a player i have known for years has always been the quiet sit back and take care of business type, in this tournament it was kinda cool to see him take on more of a leadership role and show his personality a bit.
Positive attitudes from a majority of players. There was no screaming at mistakes and people were generally good sports from the top players to the worst players.
Cons-
people are going to be bitches and not play cause of their egos, or lack of desire to play with people they arent butt buddies with.
Lack of teams.... (but mwc just ended so i feel this is more indicative of that)
People not dropping their bullshit (see drunken switching teams)
Conclusion/ Suggestions
Next draft would need to have more teams and more players to be truly successful.
Exceptions should be made for: Team Age and Team Deer if they would like since they are super long standing teams that arent going to bully anyone and defeat the entire idea of the draft. Obviously they could be drafted if theyd like, but if it meant 2 more teams I think it is an exception worth making.
Start each team with 2 players so a- we dont have the draft issue that diminished our team size (there are 2 people to choose from for a draft time) B- better players would be more committed knowing they had at least 1 buddy to team with.
Scale draft order based on team strength: Ie- Gkg and Gk if teamed would get last pick, wheras less skilled players would get first pick.
All players get a minimum of 7pct. (this makes the lower picks and helping those players learn/improve more important).
Screen the cap strength to minimum 7 rating on average. For instance: a 10 and a 6 would work, and this would prevent someone like Brasil Warrior and Edulus forming a draft team.
A little bit scaled back map picks: Games like captures or crazy allies are kind of a cluster *cruiser*. When you have all rabble/variety of skill level teams there should be more focus on playing, and less on dealing with confusion/not *cruisering* up. These games should be about clicking and fighting a lot more than Stratting/Strat execution.
All in all a lot of fun, but could be improved and much better with 8-12 teams that actually show. Would give rosters a bit more time to gel, and results would matter a lot more as depth would matter and everyone wouldnt play everyone. It would be more like a tournament than an experiment.

I had a really good time playing the matches for the most part. It was a bit long to do a 7 game final after the asmo match but whatever. Working with some new players was fun. The time and effort my teammates put in is greatly appreciated. They all did a great job, tirri, flat, crem, drunken, dant, switch, especially. I hope I didn't leave anyone out.
And on that note, this could be my last year mything as I normally do. I have an opportunity in early October to go into armed forces as an officer. We'll see what happens.

I've been saying for years to do MWC as a 3v3 tourney. Hell from SP's roster alone this MWC you could basically make 3 teams. Think of all the teams we would have, matches, competition, etc, but no, everyone is a whiny little cunt. YOU FAGS ARE KILLING MYTH!!!!
