Sam I hear what you're saying but I really don't like the idea of dragging a box to tell my archers to attack everything inside. Why don't I like it? Would mainly be a feature I wouldn't use ( only when you're being attacked by lots of low hp units does it seem desirable) and it feels totally unnecessary. I've played a heck of a lot of myth and never thought "Gosh darnit I wish I could've attacked multiple units with my archers. That would've made all the difference!" On the other hand I wouldn't object if archers split their attack among warriors if I shift clicked on a warrior in a group, I can always attack ground or simply click on one if I want to target just one. Thanks Dantski for giving your opinion on it. Just a few things to think about though. Have you ever played a Plugin where the Bowmen can select multiple targets? I have one where that is enable for them to do. It does add another dynamic to the game. On one attack they will target one of your Bowmen on the next they may target them all. So what happens is you have an arrow flying at each of your Bowmen. So you may have 3 Bowmen take 1 arrow each. Where as if the enemy would have all fired at a single Bowmen he may have dodged them all and no arrows hit. If you tried a map with that enabled you would see what happens. Plus wouldnt it be useful even sometimes to be able to attack maybe just 2 enemy Bowmen with all of yours in one quick move? VS always only being able to attack 1 at a time? Even if it is just when you are VS a group of weak Bowmen. Then there is the effect on Fire Arrows. If you select multiple targets with Fire Arrows. They will be spread out across the enemy formation. With Melee you could select a mix of units in one area of the enemy formation, not just 1 type. This would send all your units to that spot to attack the selected enemy units. So they wouldnt spread out through the whole enemy formation. For the times you didnt want them to. Other times you might want to attack as normal. It is just another option available.

Sam, give it up man. It's never gonna happen... you are just wasting bandwidth. And to claim you know more about the game than an elite player is just LOL. C'mon... you have spend years unimapping gimble, and claim to know more than someone playing for longer AND at a higher level? Just stop, man.

Being able to attack multiple targets at once with fire arrows would be a stupid change that removes the skill requirement for using fire arrows. Isn't it enough that Magma has already removed the skill requirement for melee and keeping track of which units are yours?

Adren
Your argument has been that it would have such a Big effect on the game that it would dumb it down. It would almost be like Auto-Pilot.
GKG says it would have so little effect that it wouldnt be worth doing.
You 2 are on opposite ends of the argument. You cant both be right.
You at least based on your feelings (whether I agree or not) have a legit reason to be against it. GKG on the other hand does not.
Here was GKGs first comment on it. "i don't think this is that great of a feature. I doubt I would personally ever use it. That being said, some people might like it, who knows. "

Also some people think that they game should be more intuitive, less focus on click speed ect. More focus on easily being able to execute tactics and strats. I guess there is no right or wrong there. In what way did Magma remove skill requirements for melee? You are another person on the opposite end of the argument from GKG. You feel it would make too big of a difference.

I didn't say anything about "big effect". In terms of changing the outcome of a game, I doubt it would have much effect at all... it would just making it easier for newbs to manage bowmen by eliminating the amount of clicking it would take to do the same thing manually. They would still get rolled by better players. Do not for one second think I support your idea. I offered an alternative, similar idea that I think would be an interesting feature, but I'm not sure I like the way it would render dodging with a single unit completely useless. This idea will never gain footing... save your breath and stop arguing for it.

Since at least iron and punkuser seem to be reading these posts.
How about a REAL CTF added. Like in other games where you have to capture the flag, then a unit has to carry it BACK to its home base, and can ONLY score if their home flag is there as well. The unit that is carrying the flag would have a flag icon over its head so people could tell who has the flag.
Make it home, drop the enemy flag in in the center of your home flag's radius = you win, or you get 1 point and the game continues. It would pretty much be a custom CTF feature in loathing.
The flag would have to be an artifact that only the enemy team can pick up. If the team that owns the flag, then kills an unit that is carrying it, it gets dropped and when the team that owns the flag touches it, it goes back to its home. Most games have CTF just like this, and its really damn fun.

As a matter of fact I said "based on your feelings you have a legit reason to be against it." You say it would make it easier for noobs, but it wouldnt effect the outcome of the game and they would still get rolled by better players. So if it would make no difference why be against it? And because a few very vocal people are against it. Even when they say it would have little to no effect. Is no reason to say it wont happen.

that would be fucked simply because of differing unit speeds, sinkable units, terrain passability, etc... it works fine in FPS game where all players are of equal speed, but I don't see it working well on myth.

There are many reasons to be against it. I don't feel I really have to list them, as most have been mentioned by others already, i.e. the ability to flame and entire army in one shot -> gay.

Also Adren
However easier it made it for noobs (if it did) it would also make it that much easier for pros. So you could focus less on button mashing and more on tactics.
Same with like the Flame Arrows. Everyone could do it. If a noob could use that feature good, well you could use it like a Pro. It would be more true to life also. It wouldnt be something you always did. Just maybe sometimes. You still might want to land some Flames behind and in front of the enemy Bowmen. Not just aimed right on them like this would do.
And yes maybe it would reduce some of the clicking you did for that but, that would allow you to focus and click on other things. It would just eliminate some repetitive clicking but not clicking amount. The better players are always going capitalize on an advantage or option better than a lesser player.
It would just give you more room to maneuver.

this is why you are pissing me the *cruiser* off man. stop dropping what i said at the beginning of the discussion while ignoring everything i said afterwards. I am not on the opposite end of the spectrum of anyone except you. I am with everyone else on this. Take a hint.
I didn't even think about this use with firearrows before, which in case does make this feature very overpowered. In one click a player can just light an entire area up with a group of archers. Very overpowered, takes out all of the skill in being able to click and aim those.
So there you go, a great reason not to do it.
You aren't very well known by the myth community so I just wanted to see how deep of a hole you were going to dig for yourself. Very deep as it turns out. You have just lost all credibility amongst the competitive myth community. My job here is done.
