It's even easier to notice this 'far cry' as MWC, since civil/SF were never coup'd out of their title. People have been chasing summertime as a time for good myth games to be played while scheduling them, chasing the dream of 'good games'. For some, good means competitive, for others, good means hilarious; it's all up to the subject's personalization of the word 'good'. The tournament's eliminations since 2001 are just a rationalized excuse for someone to say "Ok well I'm done with this video game until next year", and some people do in fact need this to happen. However, it is a foolish lie to believe there couldn't be more good games potentially available to happen this summer, a lie brought on by an energy that was created long ago in the search for the best games played, which some continue to harbor ourselves. Now that MWC has reached the point where it will be over in July rather than August, I feel this is more obvious than ever. And those who do not come back for good games of myth with old time buddies or cemented rabble squads are kind of more hilarious than those on the search for good games (meanwhile, they of course point their fingers, criticize and attempt to torment those that do.) It's like they are still stuck in high school in the form of a gossiping giggling girl. Maybe it's time for those people to graduate.

This thread seriously over estimates what myth was. The reality is: the only difference between myth tournaments now and then is ONE more tough match. A majority of the tournament was still roflstomp face rolls. There was 2-3 more tough matches in a tournament if you were a lower seed, and hit bottom bracket early, but let's not even compare myth then to now by using Nba analOgies. That would infer that all of myth was talented. Which was most surely not the case.

I'm sure if you had your way you'd have wanted your team to look @ the maps.

Go back and watch some of the old films... the vast majority of the games don't exactly demonstrate great play and teamwork compared to modern Myth. No one can dispute that there are fewer teams, but if anything the average quality of play has risen. I thought there were actually a reasonably large number of good matches this MWC especially compared to last year where the Bullz pretty much just steam-rolled everyone. And adrenaline's satchel bomb was even better than the CBing in last years' finals All in all a good MWC I think.

I don't think anyone maybe a single nba analogy in this thread, so I'm guessing honkey is once again content with giving his opinions while high on bath salts

Ya because GKG didn't reference michael jordan or anything. and tirri didnt respond that "michael jordan wasn't the only one practicing when he played". Sound like our college education seriously needs to focus on reading comprehension.

i had actually forgotten that you went through the maps with your whole team, which makes a huge difference. i was actually talking about the several times that you were online going through the maps with a couple of your team-mates prior to sunday. but plz keep on insisting like stratting would have made no difference while you did it way way more than my team we didn't make strategies while online, that is me showing people what the strat is. the strats are already made, which typically takes me all of 2 minutes to get a general idea of for each game. The "several times" prior to Sunday you are referring to is in reality just 1 time. Thanks for noticing though, I am sure you were on high alert with regards to our strat sessions. you would have a great argument if it didn't take me 10 seconds the very first time I looked at zodiac fr to know not to trade for archers. Just the most obvious example of several in the finals. I can only imagine you don't spend the 15 minutes to look at all the trades for maps because you have no idea what the hell you are doing, which has only been glaringly obvious to me since 2009 when I first noticed your capping.

it's really amusing to watch two people who have been playing myth with one another for over 14 years bicker about who cares more.
I imagine this is how the israel-palestine feud started.

Just a reminder Paris that a) your posts are all unreadable and b) you weren't good enough to play in the finals of a single competitive tourney, ever

Myrk a) you have never won a finals of a single competitive tourney b) you never won a tourney while teamed up with absolut, monty and honkey. c) you never won a tourney while teamed up with tirri or arz d) even in the mwc05 finals, the only real chance you ever had to be good enough to win the finals of a single competitive team tourney, the finals were cancelled due to faggotry and disagreement. e) you lost to tcox 06 f) i'm sure the finals of many myth tournaments were really competitive when you had players using dial up and latent delay. i'm inclined to believe that when players had a permanent disadvantage, terrible connections, and "P3N15 1N 455" were considered good, the games were much more competitive. g) you are the only player to actually get retired by a single team's hate: chicago bullz 2010. conclusion: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Just a reminder cupcake.

There were like 8 teams or something enter this year (lol) with like 3 that had any chance at all of winning. Far cry from 99-2000-2001. Ah yes flat, a far cry from that era indeed. In mwc2k1 which you might argue was the greatest, there was what? 80 teams? Well I placed 8th in that tournament and I was probably a 2-3 baller by today's standards at that time along with the rest of my team, and we sure as hell were a far cry from being finalist contenders. So are you to suggest to me that the 7 teams above us were all contenders for the finals? In mwc07 and 08 I was on raz's team and we placed 4th I think both years, and we sure as *cruiser* weren't on level with the 3 teams above us to contend for the finals. No, the fact of the matter is that every mwc has always had 3-5 teams with realistic potential for the finals, regardless of the number of players/teams playing in it. The vast amount of rabble teams which are your deer's and gru's of the myth world have been vastly reduced over the years, as they only played the game for 1-2 years, never got good, and then didn't care enough to make the transition to pmnet. The last remaining top players that continue to stay with the game still reform themselves fairly similarly in those top 3-4 teams year after year. You are just delusional enough to believe that the more gru and deer teams we enter into the tournament, the more competitive it naturally becomes. Well looking at the teams that placed above cacra in 2001 I'd say yes all 7 of them were contenders to make the finals. Hell no#7 was MoR which were expected to be one of the finalists before the tourney started. Oh and cacra werent all that bad in 2001. Pretty solid roster really.

There were like 8 teams or something enter this year (lol) with like 3 that had any chance at all of winning. Far cry from 99-2000-2001. so the last real tourney was really 2000, since the original tournament champions played (and also won) for the last time in that year. 2001 is only included so you feel less butthurt even though you lost + you got wrecked by a team that a year ago probably could have won in 2000 as well. thus really any mwc tournament after 2000 is a far cry because more than one team had a chance at winning (see civil/SP) as far as im concerned most 'myth tournaments, ever' have been plagued with idiots behind the scenes and fools making entire mistakes costing their teams terrible matches. here has really never been one year of professionalism since civil and SF left the scene when this game went under. and no one counts mwc98 which was played on TFL to be involved as, mentioned or included as a great tourney, so we can drop that idea all together. Well civil might have won 99 and 2000 but it's not like they were the only team that had a chance to do so. They actually got knocked into bottom bracket in both those tourneys and almost eliminated by np in bottom in 2000, they werent an "unbeatable, nobody else has any chance to win" team. Mwc98 was a great tourney. Renwood won it. Using only his left hand. Regardless.... NP is probably the best team of all time. Nearly eliminated civil in the first tourney they ever entered (NP) in a tourney which civil eventually won. And pretty much dominated the tourney scene since then up until myths players base and np's care both dwindled to nothing.
