I agree that government benefits need to be trimmed, that is no question, I also agree that government needs to be much smaller.
However the word "defense" budget is a joke. Tell me how drone strikes in Libya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and god knows where else are in the name of defense?
Tell me how a bunch of villagers that live in fuckign clay huts that cant read, and barely know how to hold and load weapons need to be defended against?
Tell me how Defending the *cruisering* korean border is "defense".
We have attacked more countries than anyone in the last 100 years period. It is an offensive budget. Why do we need bases in: Turkey, Phillipines, Korea, Germany, Italy, and a host of other countries?
So much money is pissed away on the military industrial complex it isnt funny.
Another simple solution to debt: Greatly reduce the prison population. The land of the "free" has more prisoners than anywhere else in the world. Fact of the matter is around half of them are non violent drug offenders.
Drug companies are allowed to put out Oxy contin, and other poison that is 10X more detrimental to society than pot, or even cocaine. People have used drugs for thousands of years... yet we have a corporate institution (pharmie companies) that pay our government to Outlaw safer substances (marijuana) because the big pharmie and booze companies would lose out on their already ridiculous profit margins.
We are on a trajectory as a nation to fund PRISONS more than schools and both parties are equally guilty.
Neither party ever adresses the "root" of the *cruisering* problems, but instead keeps their bullshit status quo alive, while cutting services, falling even further behind the world in mass transit/infrastructure, failing school systems (see detroit, chicago, Milwaukee, and other large midwestern city graduation rates they are under 40 percent). Go to places like flint michigan, east st louis illlinois, and so on and so forth. We have enough problems at home, yet our politicians (see hurricane katrina) do nothing to protect or help the people they are supposedly helping.
Fact of the matter is: they keep taking more, and delivering less.

Yep more dictionary definition gobbledygook. You know what I am referring to... It's a common tactic to play the grammar nazi card when you have nothing of substance to say. Once again, come up with a substantive post like honkey, a much smarter individual than yourself, or get off the pot. Actually, no, I don't. Care to elucidate that for me? And it tickles me to see you "slander" me here for invoking the definition meaning of the word slander. It shows me you care, and value my opinion. I'm flattered, but seeing as I never claimed I was smart, and am actually probably average in nearly every respect, would you mind, great sensei, in disclosing now to your fervent disciple the wisdom which underlies your indecipherable polemic? I am ashamed to say that with my imperfect intellect your words are appearing to border on nonsense! The thought is almost unbearable. I merely wish for you to speak up like honkey, instead of engaging in troll speak. It is important that Mythers fully understand why liberal policies like the ones you support are wrong. One reason why they are wrong is because their supporters are unable to defend them. One example is yourself. Rather than defend your policies you instead choose to slander me and engage in grammar nazi tactics.

I agree that government benefits need to be trimmed, that is no question, I also agree that government needs to be much smaller. Thank you for this! I disagree with the use of such tactics in Libya. There was no reason for us to be in Libya since Gaddhafi had turned over a new leaf and declared himself to be an ally to the U.S. His actions did indeed show in his later years that he was a western ally. On the other hand, our efforts in the other three countries were for the greater good. Our actions in Iraq have created a thriving democracy there that stands as a shining beacon of light in the Middle East. Our efforts in Afghanistan/Pakistan have yielded the deaths of one of the greatest enemies the United States has ever faced: Osama bin Laden. That is a gross simplification of their capabilities. They are a force of zealots who are willing to blow themselves to defeat our way of life. We must protect our way of life. I agree with you here. This is not defense. This is the product of our failed past strategy to be the world police rather than protect our own interests. We should have bombed North Korean to oblivion before they developed the nuclear missile. To maintain our dominance over the rest of the world. The U.S. is #1 because we can destroy you. The military industrial complex is a job creator. I agree with you on drugs. I also think that we need to get rid of the FDA. I'm fairly certain they approve what corporations tell them to approve. Let's just get rid of the cumbersome middle man, and save us some money. I think we should privatize both functions. Privatization is the answer.

Grammar nazis: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4vf8N6GpdMBut great sensei, which policies are the ones I must defend? I'm confused because I was under the impression that I hadn't actually voiced an opinion either way. Am I still wrong, even if you and I are in agreement? I am curious to know how I have "slandered" you, especially since I have only been communicating with you through letters. Please tell me how I could have made such a horrendous error, and what I can do to correct it in your eyes, for you are most assuredly right in all that you do and conceive, for you are the one known as superguest, whom the prophets spoke of when they said that ignorance will one day soon be banished from the minds of the people and all will come to know and live and die by the truth alone.

If we were in agreement you would have indicated as such, a long time ago. Why argue with your ally? This is just ridiculous trolling by a liberal. The same liberal who SLANDERED me by calling me a troll.

You are a troll, whether or not you think so is irrelevant.

You are a troll, whether or not you think so is irrelevant. I refuse to get engaged in games with the troll known as amino1. Let's return this thread back to legitimate debate as to the failure of this SCOTUS ruling.

Honkey knows what is what bros, live in Canada for a while and you'd never move back to America. Place is like a 3rd world country compared to where I live now. I honestly doubt if the America we grew up in lives to see it's 300th anniversary.
P.S. We brought it on ourselves with Bin Laden, we trained the *cruiser* and supplied him with weapons against the Soviets. GJ us. We could have just sat and waited and the soviet union would have collapsed anyway due to keeping up in the arms race with us. Instead we went into Vietnam and Korea for no *cruisering* reason but to "stop communism" what a *cruisering* waste of manpower. There hasn't been a real war since WW2.

I honestly doubt if the America we grew up in lives to see it's 300th anniversary. Here we go, an actual thing worth debating in this thread. Is anyone not impressed by how long this great experiment has endured? I don't think any of the founding fathers had expected it to last this long. Some may be tempted to play the blame game for whatever ills might exist in world, but it's my contention that such a tendency is precisely why the perception that ills exist at all persists. Why spend one's energy in a fruitless exercise such as that when one could be surveying the groundwork for the future city which honors the aspirations of our ancestors? What form will that take, the spiritual successor of the American dream? And superguest, just because I haven't opted to play your game doesn't make me a troll. Why argue with your ally? To keep the wits sharp: As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. I'll do you one more: Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you. So what do I think? I think anyone running for office is going to be basically conservative. The aim is to maintain the current illusion guided by the maxim that things should be the way they were when times were good, whether that was in the Clinton years, the Reagan era, or before. You were right, superguest. Truth hurts. But hopefully not so much that we fail to face it.

There's no doubt about that. One side seeks to return things to the way they were when things were good. The other side seeks to have universal healthcare.

Superguest is trying to demonstrate his superior intellectual prowess to no one in particular. Totally not a troll.
