The Kurgan sucked. He was getting his ass kicked by Sean Connery until he started worrying about the woman, then Lambert later on had no fear of him, even going so far as to call his bluff by grabbing his throat.

dog soldiers
i probably woudln't have remembered this if ghengis didn't review that shitty movie where qui-gon jinn kills zero wolves. dog soldiers was made in 2002 and is probably one of the best werewolf movies ever, not to mention it's werewolves look extremely similar to myrkridia (not to be confused with myrkridon, see : hippopotamus). there are plenty of great refernces to other movies, lots of blood, and lots of humans breaking down and going ape shit against each other in times of crisis. the movie takes place in scotland, the homeland of william wallace, if you don't want to waste your time with shitty movies like the ones ghengis watches, feel free to look this one up !
3.5/5 stars

-Capturing the friedmans- Documentary
One of the best documentaries i've ever seen, andrew jarecki masterfully makes us confused as to whose side we're on in this case of child molestation in the united states, where a father and one of his three sons is accused of molesting some children during computer class. the elder brother videotapes the falmily falling apart while they still try to figure out what's going on. Must watch.

Prometheus !
Was not expecting too much for this one as I donned my 3d goggles, and strapped myself in for another butchery for the Alien series. BUT,, its pretty good !!!!!
Very interested origin story for the Alien/ preditor series, with some extra interesting creationist storyline bits. Where did we all come from ? ALIEN DNA !!
Pros : Visually pretty amazing, cool moon buggies, face huggers, tight space suit wearing babes, pew pew kill it with fire action.
Cons: pretty vague moments in the plot that will cause you to get onto some nerdy movie discussion webpages to seek answers. Have to wait until the next movie comes out to know what the hell is really going on. No bewbs.
8 V's out of 10

21 Jump Street This movie has all the makings of a film I could hate: unsurprising mainstream comedy actors doing an already-done-a-million-times-before movie filled mostly with oh-look-at-me-I'm-SO-witty punchlines. I love pleasant surprises. Make no mistake, the movie is dumb, but neither unintentionally or overbearingly so. Everything about the acting, set-making, and writing seems to scream "we're having fun making this film!" And there's enough new twists on old shticks that keep the movie fresh, so that even if you've already seen Pineapple Express, Superbad, (and other recent shock-value films like The Hangover etc.), you won't feel like you're watching another cheap cut and paste film. Two ex-high school nemeses become friends when they meet in the police academy, and are forced to go back to high school to infiltrate the school's drug dealing ring. Along the way are lots of boobs, guns, old ladies getting punched, exploding chickens, a limousine car chase, and general hijinks. If you're in the mood for Superbad, but you don't want to see Superbad, go see this movie! You might find it pleasantly refreshing. 7/10! edit: and hey look, maddox reviewed prometheus

memories of murder (2003)
what a film; showcases the beautiful s-korean filmmaking with solid storyline, character development, strong themes
to appreciate fully: watch subtitled original version, and if you're uninitiated, make sure to first watch some lighter korean movies (ex: I SAW THE DEVIL) to better understand recurring themes, humor and local customs

Goon -
A good old hockey movie, I thought this would be a slapstick comedy or something Sean William Scottesque, it's not, his character delivers as usual, but there is also a decent plot put in place by the fact that it is based on a true story. If you like Hockey violence, decent comedic moments, and an underdog story this is your movie, every time you think it's about to get slow, he just beats the shit out of someone. Very enjoyable, but not trying to be overly inspirational like Miracle, or young blood. I'll probably watch it again right now, 8/10.

Deadly Prey I'd like to thank falcon for posting a teaser of this movie, he did it maybe 2 or 3 years ago. Anyway, Deadly Prey is so awesome, you'd need to invent new words to write about it. I'll let you watch the imdb page, you can download it on most torrent websites. www.imdb.com/title/tt0092848/Battleship wtf, I want my money back. Imagine that they spent 200MILLON DOLLARS to do this. Everything is bad about this movie, at least if you want to make a bad movie, dont invest that much, DEADLY PREY is perfect exemple of a bad movie who is a delight to watch. Battleship is just terribly bad. BAD Sucks. AKA : bad, dont watch. Imagine what could have been achieved with those 200 Millions dollars. Then watch this movie. The girl with the dragon tatoo. Kind of slow movie, but the girl is so hot that I wana legalize anorexia. A+, watch it (the 2011 move that is, didn't watch the 2009 movie). Good thriller, and also contains boobs and shaved pussy.

The Killer Inside Me.
This movie is some how terribly disturbing and slightly comical at the same time. Ben Afflecks brother plays a psycho path, whose sadistic violent sexual nature is triggered when he is sent to investigate a prostitute in a small texas town. He goes to run her out of town but ends up *cruisering* her (Jessica Alba). All the violent murders he commits in a string there after are somehow offset by silly 50's jukebox dance music in the back ground, combined with the flat affect of Casey Affleck's character it's almost funny. Almost. The reveal is he was sexually abused by his mother as a child and had kept his psychotic tendencies in check until the prostitute slaps the shit out of him triggering some sort of outburst. Casey Affleck's character is really good at pulling off all his murders with a complete lack of compassion or sympathy for anybody he kills. Interesting movie, but somewhat terrifying.
