total war is nothing like myth... i bought it a few or so years ago thinking it would be similar but it really isn't.

the original Age of Empires is more like Myth than Total War... and even that isn't close. there is no other game like myth. Perhaps Halo Wars is the closest... but I've never played it so I'm just speaking out of my ass.

Into- European Escalation
game-play, you can see terrain can be hidden, random encounters like tanks getting stunned , stuck in mud. Scouting is involved. Also if you look the attacks do not always hit. There is also the factor of fuel and you need to use your supply trucks and control territories to fuel these trucks for a long campaign attack.

Never played that game but it really is awesome to see a highly detailed, 3d graphic rendering of Myth in a different game.

Its a custom texture pack/ mod for Total war, not sure which version of total war as there is like 5 or 6 of them. A few good mods for that game exist, played a Lord of the rings one a year back, was pretty good.
