Weighted or regular QR pools? Also I'm not sure if we want to continue with 10 teams to the DE or eliminate two after the QR. The one's eliminated are mostly likely the semi-forfeit teams. The problem is, if we continue with 8, how do you do the seeding post QR with weighted pools?

Yeah, but i generally leave this stuff to more organised people :-P
I think the elimination of 2 teams after QR is a good idea, weed out the non show or really weak teams.
After the QR, can you assign a score to teams based on how they did and what level of team they defeated / lost against ?
eg. a top 5 team that lost to another top 5 team would get more points towards their score than a top 5 team that lost to a bottom 5 team ? Sorry not much help but happy to keep discussing.

There are several different methods that can be done/has been done, but the problem with assigning extra score for the top bracket is that it would still be possible for one of those to be eliminated instead of some of the weaker teams.
And if you remove the chance of top bracket teams being eliminated, you might as well just forget the notion of extra points and just assign the QR seeds based on your original QR pool again. Like places 1-5 go to top bracket pool teams and places 6-10 go to b pool teams.

Well at the end of the day the aim is to get down to the two best teams, regardless of scoring/ weighting method, those 2 teams will make it through to face off at the end.
