If people want to admit it or not, what really happened to this game was the period between MWC 03 and MWC 04. At the end of MWC03, Sm was eliminated by Np. Conspiracy has been floating around for years that Zaramis actually didn't even TRY to lead Sm to victory, thinking "they had no chance" to beat Np. He killed half of his units without purpose and laughed about it. They did have a chance, but so goes the lore of Myth. Keep this in mind for latter. No chance.
The MWC03 finals were wonderful. BIA and Np dueling it out. Like Rocky and Apollo. Like the Yankees and the Red Sox. Like some soccer rivalry in Europe. A team came together to beat Np. Hadn't been done in 2 or 3 years. Wow.
And just that fast, that thought of people being able to put together a good team and practice, went absolutely out the window with the formation of BME.
Here is where the "no chance" factor comes back. After seeing what BME did the competition in 2004, there was simply no reason for people to even try. MWC05 even died because of BME. If they couldn't win it, nobody could. The powerhouse team that came out of a couple of MWC03 teams, in so little time, to beat established teams that have been playing together for pretty much YEARS, put the horrible taste of failure into the mouths of Myth players everywhere.
There was just no reason to try to compete with them. The 1-2-3 trow teams simply gave up..stopped playing. and the 3-4-5 teams that did stick around, consolidated to form other "super teams" to try to keep up. That action, left the role players out of those teams. They left because they had no place. It would be as if MLB contracted a bunch of teams and took the best players just to play against the Yankees. This is what happened to Myth.
BME retired most of myth without even dueling against them. People left instead of trying to compete against them.
This is sad, but true fact. You can deny it if you want, but there's No Chance.
