I think there are some really good old ones like alien and poltergeist. What do you guys think? Classic vs new school.

alien scary ? never really got that. In more recent times I have enjoyed the Paranormal Activity series. Something about it keeps me entertained. Mb coz the chicks seem to always have a decent pair.

The first paranormal activity was good. The next two were terrible. And yes, when alien came out it was scary. That was 1979 and no one had seen anything like it. You didn't think the alien coming out of a dudes chest wasn't epic scary movie material? Its an iconic scene.
Anyway, I would suggest exorcist as a very good one. Also, the original The Thing was one of my favorites.
A newer one that got to me was the exorcism of Emily rose

yeah PA1 was the best, prob because it was a newish concept at the time. And back to Alien, I guess it was prob because when I saw it for the first time I was older and had seen alot more modern special effects. It didnt quiet have the same punch it would have had brand new in its day. Yeah I liked the exorcist, there was a single frame in that movie that flashes up fast at some stage at a random time, I had to go back and pause it and that freaked me out more than anything else in that movie. It was of some kind of demon face with freaky eyes.
A standout for me was the original Scream movie, the first murder with the voice on the phone, chick in the house scene. That freaked me out big time.

I watched something called The Town that Dreaded Sundown last night. Its from 76 and is a lot scarier than most movies out right now. Basically a really realistic true story of some serial killer who never says a *cruisering* word and just breathes and kills.
