Thanks, Switch, but after reading a few pages of the debunking site you've linked I'm beginning to doubt its impartiality in investigating the matter. Some of the claims it makes have attributed sources but some do not. I found much of the language it uses to be polemical in nature and it seems to, in some places, create straw men to tear down for the sake of appearing like a comprehensive invalidation of the assertions in the movie. Be happy to provide examples.

From my perspective, the Zeitgeist videos are propaganda. They've been produced by a small collective of people with singular leadership to promote technocracy. I'm certainly interested in the claims made concerning the nature of the American economic system, but I have little interest in defending (or attacking) the video series itself as a result of it's association with technocracy: a movement I am simply not inclined to support.

That's fine, as I'm not in a position to do so either, having only minimal knowledge of the content in their products. However, like I've said before, I am interested in getting to the bottom of the claims made regarding the business of money. I just can't help but feel that the site you link only succeeds in further obfuscating the matter and is not concerned in uncovering the truth so much as affirming its intellectual superiority to the minds behind Zeitgeist.

Thanks. This one is slightly better but incomplete--and in fact it even contradicts the first one you linked in a couple places. Still, I am not satisfied that we can close the books. I ran across a video of a the author of the book Milkman mentions. The audio is not all that great but I can link it here: www.realitysandwich.com/video/new_edge_radical_economics_what_moneyThe website is not what I would call credible exactly but it does feature interesting articles time to time.

Another general source to consider is Niall Ferguson's popular series The Ascent of Money based on his book of the same name.
